Unreal Engine 5 game created by Won Hwang
Flashing Jump is a spiritual successor/parody of the PlayStation classic, Jumping Flash! released in 1995.
Best described as “Mario meets Doom”, Jumping Flash! is one of the earliest 3D platformers that predates Tomb Raider and Super Mario 64. The levels echo open-ended 3D map design, the sense of speed during platforming is still exhilarating, and the fast-paced combat is great fun. Although it is still worth playing, the controls have not aged gracefully due to having to use the D-Pad for the player movement.
Flashing Jump aims to remedy several dated gameplay designs through the modern technology in Unreal Engine 5 in a small experiment, featuring the WASD and the analog stick scheme with complete control of the camera movement.
